Myofascial Release is a state of the art soft tissue technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Conditions such as headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow can be resolved quickly and permanently with Myofascial Release. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are generally a result of overused muscles.
Overused muscles create scar tissue that binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. causing reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain.
Myofascial Release addresses all of these in a manner that is fundamentally different than a massage. Massage techniques involve compression to a muscle group or region. Deep Soft Tissue work is done with more compression to an area. The results of massage promote relaxation and increased circulation. An Active Release Technique treatment involves compression and tension to certain muscular or ligamentous structure while taking that structure through a shortened to lengthened movement improving glide and function of the treated tissue.
